after the project’s long-term residency in cité internationale des arts in the period 2018-2019, a new direction came naturally — that of freely improvising lyrics and music and thus confronting the whole ensemble to the spontaneous and the unknown.

it was in this experimental period confronting silence was born. bilyana furnadzhieva and viktor benev invited an international array of musicians from entirely different backgrounds and cultures to converse through the language of music and improvisation.

the blend of bilyana’s porcelain sculptures and eclectic vision, benev’s multi-instrumental practice and electroacoustic music references, lea lu’s pop music influences, aida nosrat’s traditional persian singing and classical violin technique, artem naumenko’s virtuosic flute and creative improvisations, it all creates a unique, yet seamless coalescence that goes beyond any country’s borders, beyond any cultural differences.

a reminder that music is one of the strongest protagonists for peace.
