“intriguing, contemporary original music that builds its own language and sonority. the young musicians do not take the path of the interpreter, looking for dividends from what was created before them, but, like true creators, strive to envision and construct their own path in music.”

– antoni donchev conductor of the bulgarian national radio big band
via mavis' only album is a display of the trio's cosmopolitan influences. while the three members all originate from bulgaria, they all decided to leave their native country and build their careers in different spots in europe – france, the netherlands and austria.

throughout the years, jazz music has developped differently in each of these places and while the common language of improvisation serve as the basis of this music, the influences, gathered by each member through their personal experiences, infuse the eight compositions with ingredients that make the sound stand out on its own, while keeping a certain reference to their bulgarian traditions in music.

thus, aerial perspectives is an album, which invites the listener for a trip from above, encompassing eastern and western european musical traditions.
